Wasl Properties
Building Connections. Shaping Dubai's Urban Future.
Dubai's Premier Master Developer
Wasl Properties is one of Dubai’s largest and most strategically significant real estate developers — a semi-government entity established on 25 May 2008 by the Dubai Real Estate Corporation (DREC) through the merger of two public-sector organisations: the Dubai Development Board and the Real Estate Department. The company was formed to consolidate and professionally manage DREC’s enormous asset portfolio and to drive Dubai’s urban development in alignment with the emirate’s long-term vision. Under the chairmanship of Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Deputy Ruler of Dubai) and led by CEO and Vice Chairman H.E. Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Wasl operates across four major business verticals: Wasl Properties (residential and commercial development and management), Wasl Hospitality (32 hotels with 5,400+ rooms), Dubai Golf (managing Emirates Golf Club, Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, and Jumeirah Golf Estates), and real estate investment management. At inception, Wasl inherited a legacy portfolio of 25,000 properties across older Dubai communities including Deira, Bur Dubai, Al Karama, Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Jebel Ali, and Ras Al Khor. Today that portfolio has grown to over 55,000 residential and commercial units, 32 hotels, 6,000+ land plots, and several major master development projects. Wasl entered the freehold real estate market in 2014 with the Hyatt Regency Creek Heights twin towers, and has since expanded with landmark projects including: Wasl Gate (Sheikh Zayed Road mixed-use hub), Wasl 1 (Za’abeel luxury residences), Wasl Green Park (Ras Al Khor), Park Views Residences (600 units sold out within 36 hours of launch), and the defining Wasl Tower — a 303-metre, 64-storey twisted ceramic skyscraper on Sheikh Zayed Road completed in 2025, housing Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai (Dubai’s second Mandarin Oriental, with 259 rooms and the city’s first Mandarin Oriental branded residences), Grade A offices, and 229 luxury residential units. Wasl Tower was designed by internationally renowned architects UNStudio (Ben van Berkel) with structural engineering by Werner Sobek, and won CTBUH Awards 2025 for both Construction Excellence and Facade Excellence. As a key participant in Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan, Wasl is also developing Food Tech Valley in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and Dubai CommerCity with DIFC. The company has received the Dubai Quality Award (Service category) and the CSR Label from the Dubai Chamber.
